Key Highlights from the 2026 Malaysia BigSeller E-Commerce Summit

This year's Malaysia BigSeller E-Commerce Summit was bigger, better, and more packed with value than ever. On May 9th, over 1,000 sellers, platform representatives, and solution providers came together for a day built around one thing, helping Malaysian sellers grow.
Here are some of the highlights from the day.

Networking That Started Before the First Session
Doors opened and guests were welcomed with breakfast as they registered and settled in. But it wasn't just about grabbing food, the networking started right from the moment people walked in.
The event floor was buzzing throughout the day with booths from BigSeller, Shopee, Lazada, TikTok for Business, Meta, and Shopify, alongside companies specialising in overseas warehousing, cross-border payments, digital marketing, creative design, data analytics, and e-commerce enablement services, giving Malaysian sellers the rare chance to speak directly with platform reps and solution providers all under one roof.

A Stage Full of Big Names
This year's speaker lineup brought together voices from some of the biggest platforms and companies shaping Malaysian e-commerce today.
BigSeller CEO Shirley Xie kicked things off with the opening ceremony, setting the tone for a day centred on growth and what's possible for Malaysian sellers today.
Wong Wee Wen from Shopee Malaysia opened the speaker sessions with a deep dive into Fulfilled by Shopee, showing sellers how to unlock better performance and reach more buyers through FBS. That was followed by Victor Chow, Shopee SuperXpert and Business Mentor on Astro Malaysia, who got straight to the point on what actually separates profitable sellers from those who struggle.
Rita Zhou, Vice President of Assortment Operations at Lazada, then shared what Lazada is focusing on and how sellers can take advantage of the platform's assortment boosting tools. The morning closed with BigSeller's own Tan Ren Yi, who gave attendees an exciting preview of BigSeller's next-generation omnichannel features.

After a buffet lunch, and another round of lively networking at the booths, the afternoon brought a whole new wave of energy.
Ajith, Head of E-Commerce (Brand Partnerships) at TikTok Malaysia, opened with a practical session on how to scale your TikTok Shop using GMV Max, something a lot of sellers in the room had been wanting to learn more about. Frankie Ng from Shopify APAC followed with a look at how AI is already changing the way merchants build and run their stores. Then Layla Xu from Meta shared how sellers can grow their live selling reach on Facebook, which continues to be a strong channel for Malaysian buyers.
The afternoon's most inspiring moment came from Ts. Cheng Kam Ching, Co-Founder of Mikali Commerce and PhD scholar in AI and Machine Learning at TAR UM, whose talk "When You Truly Care About Something, You Will Always Find a Way" left the room genuinely moved. It was a reminder that beyond tools and tactics, mindset still matters.
Rounding out the sessions was Shahbaaz Ali, Founder of LeapScout and ex-Lazada Trainer, who showed how top sellers are using AI to optimise their listings, pricing, and ads. He came with real examples and real numbers, and it showed.

Lucky Draw And Someone Went Home with an iPhone 17!
No summit is complete without a lucky draw, and this year we had a big one. One lucky attendee walked away with a brand new iPhone 17, definitely one of the loudest moments of the day. Congratulations to the winner!

Closing on a High Note
The day ended with a closing and networking session that gave everyone a chance to wind down, continue conversations, and connect properly after a packed day. It was the same energy as the morning, sellers exchanging contacts, speakers sticking around to chat, and the kind of conversations that actually lead somewhere.
